Better Off At A Bar: 5/11/2018
“Carly Tefft, the singer‐songwriter phenomenon from Cape Cod, ” as quoted by the Boston Globe is well-known to the music scene in New England and for her original song “Keep On Running;” a tribute to the spirit and solidarity of persevering through tragedy after the Boston Marathon bombing. For three years in a row, Tefft performed this song at the Hopkinton starting line to kickoff The Boston Marathon, but on May 11th 2018, she is hitting the ground running with the release of the first of several songs from her upcoming solo project.
Her first single “Better Off At A Bar“ describes an inner conflict between vulnerability and dignity; knowing that the right decision is to move on from a relationship, but still holding onto hope. The track combines the pop/country crossover sounds of Keith Urban’s “Cop Car,” the honesty of Sheryl Crow and the grit of Grace Potter.
“Better Off At A Bar” was co-written with fellow Nashville songwriters, Brett Gillan and Kate Cameron, and produced by Mike Stankiewicz, chief engineer at Nashville’s legendary Sound Emporium studio whose credits include working with artists such as Walker Hayes, Kacey Musgraves, and Kesha. “Better Off At A Bar” is available on iTunes and Spotify beginning Friday, May 11, 2018.
Tefft, a 2015 Berklee College of Music graduate, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer and singer, has been honing her craft in Nashville for nearly three years. Now, after co-producing/co-writing for artists Rob Bellamy, Kate Cameron and Nick DeLeo, Tefft is making her presence known in Music City.
